What’s the usb input for on a digital cable box?
I have a Motorola DCH3416 Digital Cable Box with DVR from Comcast. It has one USB input on the front and two on the back.
What is this used for?
Can I transfer DVR recordings to an external hard drive?
Can I use it to watch videos from a USB device?

If you call Comcast, they can send out a technician that can set up an external hard drive for space.
Also, on Linux(Ubuntu), you might be able to get MythTV to record your programs directly to your computer. Comcast doesn’t support this and Motorola doesn’t give the drivers, but people have written drivers.
