Lights, camera, action! Get set for the Taipei International TV, Film & Digital Contents Exhibition, with television & film celebrities and a host of producers and manufacturers showcasing A/V business products and opportunities.
The 2006 Taipei Internationsl TV, Film & Digital Contents Exhibition (TFCOM) is reeling out a star studded line-up of film-related activities this Nov. 23 to 25, 2006 at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall.
Taiwan’s audiovisual industry had been listed by government as one of the projects included in its “Challenge 2008: the 6-Year National Development Plan”, and with it Taiwan’s GIO (Government Information Office) initiated the “Taiwan International Audiovisual Exposition” last year (2005).
This event integrates the existing “Taipei TV & Film Festival”, “The Golden Horse Awards”, and “The Golden Bell Awards” into one amazing event. Highlights of the “Taipei TV & Film Festival” include three major events — TFCOM, Taipei Int’l Digital TV, Broadcasting & Film Forum, and Taiwan Film & TV Project Promotion.
Among them, TFCOM and Taipei Int’l Digital TV, Broadcasting & Film Forum are jointly organized by Taiwan Television Enterprise Ltd. (TTV) and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and supervised by the GIO and the Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA.
Being one of the government driven “Two-trillion, Two Star” industries, the digital contents industry plays a vital role for in advancing and enhancing the added value component of cultural & creative industries.
And topping off the mission with be the Taipei TV & Film Festival – TFCOM which serves as an vital international platform for the a/v and digi-content industries. It all adds up to building Taiwan into a cultural & creative hub to the Chinese-speaking film world.
Talent and film scouts at Taipei TV & Film Festival – TFCOM ‘06 will be checking out a total of 650 booths in two main areas. There’s the export-oriented International Trade Show (B2B Area and the premiere Domestic Show (B2C Area).
The B2B Area presents such prospect-packed categories as TV, film & digital contents licensing, audiovisual products, Publications, Animations, Post production equipment, and Other A/V related equipment.
Last year, the exhibition gathered 94 participants from leading companies such as TVBS, EBT, SETN, CTI, TTV, CTS, National Geographic, Discovery, CCTV, FUJI, NHK, and KBS.
Last year’s exhibition attracted a total of 1,500 visitors from 20 countries. And most of these visitors are returning along with dozens of first time exhibitors including BBC World (Great Britain), Voice of America from the U.S., and Tokyo Broadcasting System from Japan, and many more!
Country Pavilions will likely include the French Pavilion, European Union Pavilion, Japanese Pavilion, Korean Pavilion, China Pavilion, and Indian Animation. More than a third of TFCOM ‘05 exhibitors were international exhibitors!
Aiming at local market, the B2C Area will showcase the following appealing categories: Media player equipment including Mobile, PC, TV, MP3, Car entertainment, Digital Learning, Digital games, Multimedia, Internet technology, Application Software, Licensed Brand Products & Peripherals, and Art Performances in five Theme Pavilions including the Children’s Pavilion (Kinship, Learning, Games…), Animation Pavilion, Men’s Pavilion (Sports, Adult, Campaign…), Women’s Pavilion (Fashion, Finance, Shopping….), and Web TV Pavilion.
And a special treat! TAITRA has specially arranged chances for visitors to meet real TV & film stars. This exhibition is open to the public with free entry and we believe it will draw every facet and fan of the industry.
Meanwhile, the Taipei Int’l Digital TV, Broadcasting & film forum will be take place on November 23 at the Taipei International Convention Center.
